Steps in acquiring your Maule aircraft

Your Maule is well worth its price in gold. It will gain, or at the very least maintain, an excellent value for its whole lifetime. Here are the steps in making the best choice in general aviation!

First, think of your budget

You certainly have an idea of the amount of money you want to invest. You would be surprised to know how much this amount get you closer to your dream. If you need to, there are many partnership methods that can help in having your own aircraft, and Maule Air of Canada inc. can also help you in that avenue. You will soon find more details on our web site or you can contact us immediately.

There are many ways to finance your purchase (see our page financing). Don't forget that the value of your aircraft can also be depreciated over a few years for fiscal matters, but that its value will most probably always be the same in absolute amount, if not more. For example, an aircraft paid 150k$ in 2003 will certainly sell for 150k$ (or more) in 2013.

Next, make your (tough...) choice

Start by targeting the use you will make of your aircraft. We suggest that you also think medium and long term, and even think about the elements that would give an edge if you ever wanted to sell it down the road. We invite you to consult the models page, where you will also find the prices, and the options page. Please do not hesitate to call on us in guiding you through your selections.

Deposit

Once your model and options are chosen, you can reserve your plane with us. This reservation is accompanied by a deposit equivalent to 10% of the total value, made to the name of Maule Air Inc. (the manufacturer).  Prior to painting, another transfer of 20 000$ is required.  We will let you know when your aircraft is at that stage.  The remaining amount is payable before or at the time of delivery from the manufacturer's plant in Moultrie, Georgia U.S.A.

Other fees

Other than the aircraft itself, what are the other costs in acquiring a Maule (or any other plane for that matter)? To the base price of your aircraft (and options), you need to add the applicable Canadian sales taxes since it is a new plane. If you acquire it through your company (inc., ltd., etc.), these taxes are usually reimbursed.

Once the plane is reserved for sale, there is also a fee to register the aircraft with Transport Canada (TC) which is of the order of 110$. If you want to reserve a special mark (letters on aircraft), for example your initials (see the link below), that costs an extra 45$. If you want to reserve that special mark and get that one delivered on your plane, it will cost you a total of 145$.

Manufacturing and follow-up

Constantly in contact with the manufacturer, Maule canada inc. will keep you informed of the evolution of your aircraft. If you wish, we can let you know every time your aircraft goes through a new manufacturing stage (welding, paint, etc.) The normal manufacturing time, from reservation to delivery, is around six to seven months. Sometimes, certain aircraft are in the manufacturing process and may not be sold, so you can reserve one at an already advanced stage and have it sooner than the regular time period. Contact us to see what's available.

We will also complete all formalities and communicate with TC for you. As such, this will avoid any delay in getting your aircraft in your hands and in the air! You can also visit the TC site regarding the registration of an imported aircraft (see the link below).

Delivery

When your plane is ready, it awaits you at the manufacturer's plant in Moultrie Georgia (USA). You can either pick it up yourself, or arrange to have it delivered to your place of choice. In this last case, you would need to cover the charges of the ferry flight.

For each client, 30 minutes of "check on type" is given free of charge by the manufacturer. We strongly suggest that you invest in at least an extra hour once on the premises.
